Ties with Qatar were cut off by Arab countries including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and Bahrain in July 2017 and cut off ties were imposed with the accusation of the countries for support of extremist group whereas Qatar denied that. Qatar rejected the accusations and terms them as baseless.

Recent tension in the middle east raised alarm with the attack from Houthis on major oil installation in Saudi Arabia. A houthi group said in a recent statement that they are to strike with drones in deep inside Saudi kingdom.

The importance of Qatar is always there with rising tensions in the region with Houthis and Iran. Qatar has always played a decisive role in regional peace and development. But it has been neglected on several occasions but this time they need unity and Qatar should be the part of this important meeting being held in Mecca on  30th May.
